See you in Cannes!
Get the summer clothes out of the closet and get ready for this years Cannes! We will be there to support some of the great films we have been lucky enough to work on.
Michael Winterbottom chose Ljudligan for his latest film
November and December were hectic times at Ljudligan. All sound post for the Winterbottom film ”Killer inside of Me” was done in our facilities in Trollhättan. The film was screened both at Sundance and at the Berlinale.
The Chimney Pot Scores high in Berlin
The Chimney Pot won two Silver bears in this year’s Berlinale for its co-production ”If I Want to Whistle I Whistle”, the Grand Jury Prize and the Albert Bauer Prize.
On top of that, two more bears were awarded films where The Chimney Pot had provided the post. A Golden Bear for best short film, Engagement at a Bank and a Silver Bear for best début, Sebbe.
We keep our fingers crossed for this year's Cannes releases.
Chimney signs on a Tim Roth and John Hurt film
During Berlinale The Chimney Pot signed on as co-producers to “The Absinthe Drinkers”. The film will be shot later this summer and Chimney Pot will provide all post including SFX for the film. It’s a period piece and the cast includes stars like Tim Roth, John Hurt, Peter Facinelli and Nikolai Kinski.
The American
Director Anton Corbijn shot scenes for his second feature film The American starring George Clooney up in north of Sweden and The Chimney Pot supplied the front end services.
We where fortunate enough to handle sound and DI for Antons debut Control, so we keep our fingers crossed that his second film become and even greater success!
We offer Swedens best onelights!
In August 2009 we upgraded our Arri datascanner to the highest possible speed. Since then we have serviced many productions with onelights. We scan all the source material to 2K DPXs which we then grade in DI and transcode to a Final Cut Pro och Avid format of your choice. Try it next time, you have never seen a onelight looking this good before. One more benefit is that there is no need to scan before final grade and you also have all sources available in full 2K res. It is not more expensive than a normal onelight, strangely enough.
Red transcode on set – now even better
We are now up and running with our new RED transcoder on set. This gives us the opportunity to offer our clients not only back-up and logging on set. We also grade the rushes during the shooting day! Giving the team fantastic dailies to look at when they get back from the shoot.
The new revival – Shooting on film
The Chimney pot has set up a new work-flow enabling producers to go back and shoot on film in a larger extent than before. We do this by scanning at 2K all rushes. Giving the production fantastic looking dailies and also a much quicker post. All at a very competitive price.
Arris new camera
We are looking forward to any day do the first tests with material from Arris new Alexa camera. The camera will be the best on the market until Red Epics is released. The workflow is great with no need to transcode on set, it records directly to FCP and Avid friendly formats. Click the picture for more interesting reading at Arris site.
